Nancy Keehr
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Nancy holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in Fine Arts from the University of Saskatchewan. She has also studied Art History at the University of Regina.
After working briefly in watercolour, Nancy became intrigued with the medium of printmaking, studying with Jack Anderson, Frank Janzen and Jenn Robins.
Printmaking is a wonderful mystery - you can't predict the final result until the paper is pulled from the plate! Then there's the challenge of trying to duplicate it! The variety of techniques is endless, offering a new experience every day.
Nancy's original prints have been included in:
Jim Haskins
Jim was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Jim is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan. Jim's study of the visual arts has included instruction from a variety of artist teachers in Saskatchewan and British Columbia. These teachers have included Jack Anderson, Ward Schell, Donna Kriekle, Glen Howarth, Carol Rae and Jenn Robins.
Jim's interest in printmaking is rooted in a lifelong interest in painting and photography inspired by his father and his Uncle.
For Jim, the world of printmaking provides the challenge of creating an image that is pleasing to the eye and then, by hand, to produce it time and again with each resulting image being an original in its own right. It is in this challenge that he finds the lure to printmaking and it is this challenge that keeps his interest and constantly pushes his ability and desire to improve and refine both technique and style.
Most of Jim's images are found in the common things we see each day and yet often don't take the time to notice; an eagle in a tree, a line of trees in the forest, a simple flower - printmaking allows sharing the vision of these things and gives them a longer life through the print.
Jim's original prints have been included in:
· Pressing Images, Martin Batchelor Gallery, Victoria, British Columbia
· Pressing Images II, Community Arts Council Gallery, Victoria British Columbia
